Kevin R. Hiers, CPA

Kevin graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Augusta State University in 1999. After graduation, he worked in Tifton for three years before joining Henderson & Godbee, LLP in 2002. He received his CPA license in 2006 and became a partner with the firm in July, 2010. He obtained his Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation through NACVA in October 2013.

Kevin specializes in income taxation and business consulting for clients trying to start a business or continue to improve their business. He has experience in business valuations, planning and projections, financial analysis, cash flow analysis for debt payoff, and startup business analysis. Kevin has significant experience regarding basis issues that may arise for partnerships and corporations.

Kevin resides in Hahira with his wife Jennifer and three children, Katherine, Caroline, and Audrey. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta and as the Treasurer for the Azalea City Kiwanis Club. Kevin is actively involved in many community events that help benefit the charitable organizations of our community. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for LAMP and was a four year officer with the local chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs.

 

Jim Godbee, Jr., CPA

Jim graduated from the University of Georgia in 1989 with a BBA in Accounting and in 1990 with a Master of Accountancy.  Jim become a CPA in 1992.  He specializes in income, estate, and gift taxes, as well as business consulting.  Jim also has significant experience in real estate and partnership taxes issues regarding the development, management, and construction of residential and commercial property.  Jim also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry.  He has been a partner with Henderson & Godbee, LLP, since 2000 and lives in Valdosta with his wife Julie and three children, Katherine, James, and Grace.

 

Gerald H. Henderson, CPA

 

Gerald attended Valdosta State College, majoring in Accounting, and received his CPA license in 1964.  He is a founding member of the firm and has over 50 years of public accounting experience.

He specializes in income taxes, business consulting, employee benefits, litigation support and has significant experience (over 40 years) providing services to physicians, dentists, veterinarians and other professional service firms.  These services include tax services, development of income allocation formulas, buy-sell agreements, practice valuations, benchmarking physician practices, and consulting.  He is a member of Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

Gerald works with both large and small closely held businesses providing a wide range of tax services, consulting services, assisting with retirement and employment benefits planning and plan design, debt restructure and other services.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  During his career, he has been involved in community and civic activities.  Gerald has served as board member and chairman of the Valdosta State University Foundation, state director of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and president of the Valdosta Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is a charter member of the North Valdosta Rotary Club and was one of two CPAs that were responsible for chartering the Valdosta Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Gerald and his wife Marilyn reside in Valdosta and have two children and two grandchildren.

 

Mark S. Rogers, CPA

 

Mark is a 1985 graduate of Georgia Southern College, and received his CPA license in 1987.  As the partner in charge of auditing services, Mark specializes in auditing and income taxes.  Originally from Douglas, Georgia, Mark now resides in Hahira with his wife Laura and daughter Mallory.  Mark has been a partner with Henderson & Godbee, LLP, since 1996.

 

Maureen P. Collins, CPA

 

Maureen has been associated with Henderson & Godbee since its inception.  She graduated from Valdosta State College in 1980 and obtained her CPA license in 1984.  As the partner in charge of the Employee Benefit Programs Department, Maureen specializes in retirement plan administration and compliance as well as income taxes and consulting for professional clients.  Maureen and her husband Eddie reside in Valdosta.  She has been a partner with Henderson & Godbee, LLP, since 2004.
