Each year the Firm is involved with various events hosted by or for the VSU Accounting and Finance Department. We have a wonderful relationship with both the professors and students of the Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration, and we look forward to some exciting events planned for the upcoming year. In addition to the events listed below, our CPAs and Partners speak at Beta Alpha Psi meetings and even teach a class or two throughout the year, so look for us on campus!
H&G Open House
Held annually in the fall since 2008, this event is hosted by Henderson & Godbee, LLP for active student members of Beta Alpha Psi. Students are invited to the Firm to hear about our intern program, network with the accounting staff and learn more about public accounting. This event has grown to be an exciting and fun evening enjoyed by staff and students alike.

Meet the Firms
Henderson & Godbee, LLP has been a participant at the Accounting Department’s “Meet the Firms” event since 2009. This event is an excellent way for accounting students interested in obtaining a tax season internship to hand deliver their resumes and find out more about our intern opportunities.
The 2011 Meet the Firms will be held on September 21, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the University Center. Bring your resume and look for the H&G table!
Georgia Society of CPAs – Valdosta Chapter Annual Education Night
The Firm has been an integral part of this annual Chapter event since its inception. Each fall the Valdosta Chapter of the GSCPA provides scholarships to accounting students. The scholarships are awarded at the November meeting, and accounting professors are in attendance to talk about the current state of the Business School and Accounting Department. Like all other GSCPA meetings, this one is open free of charge to VSU accounting students.

Honors Luncheon
Each spring the Accounting and Finance department hold an Honors Luncheon to recognize outstanding Accounting Principles students from the previous year. Additionally, accounting firm-sponsored scholarships are awarded. Henderson & Godbee, LLP has an annual $1,000 scholarship given to an accounting student chosen by accounting professors.
At the Spring 2011 luncheon, previous H&G intern and MAcc student Brianna Prinsloo was awarded the H&G scholarship to use during her final year of grad school. Also, current H&G employee and undergrad student Keeley Taylor was awarded the Moore, Stevens Tiller, LLC scholarship.
